Pathological fracture in fibrous dysplasia: a case report

چکیده
Fibrous dysplasia (FD) is described as a growth disorder characterized by the progressive replacement of normal bone elements fibrous-osseus tissue. Bones affected FD presented with weakening and prone to pathological fracture. We reported case in an 8-years-old boy, who came hospital pain upper right thigh after falling bumps his head foot. An X-ray revealed deformity diasteal scalloping radiolucency lesions on one-third proximal femur, greater trochanter, lesser complete transverse discontinuity distal deformity. No similar lesion was found other bones. Bone structure trabeculation area has decreased cortex thinning. On magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), size enlarged, hypointense T1WI inhomogeneous hyperintense T2WI. fracture rare case. The appearance ground-glass represented Shepherd's crook This accompanied (fragility fracture) lesion. which developmental anomaly gave T1W1

Zoledronate Therapy for the Pathological Humeral Fracture in Polyostotic Fibrous Dysplasia: A Case Report
Fibrous dysplasia (FD) of bone is a rare skeletal disease often associated with bone pain, deformities and fractures. The bisphosphonate therapies are reported to be useful for bone pain, but seem to be not suitable for fracture repairs of extremities. This is the first report of zoledronate-induced radiological improvement and long bone fracture union in polyostotic FD. A 30-year-old Japanese ...

Fibrous dysplasia (FD) is a benign fibro-osseous bone disease of unknown etiology and uncertain pathogenesis. When bone maturation is completed, indicating the occurence of stabilization is a strong evidence of mechanism. The lesion frequently affects the craniofacial skeleton. The maxilla is affected twice comparing mandible and occurs more frequently in the posterior area. In this case, a 16 ...

Fibrous dysplasia is a benign fibro-osseous lesion of the bone that commonly affects the jaws with a higher prevalence in the maxilla than the mandible. It is a lesion of unknown etiology, uncertain pathogenesis, and diverse histopathology. Fibrous dysplasia can involve multiple bones (polyostotic) or a single bone (monostotic). It represents about 2 to 5% of all bone tumors and over 7% of all ...
متن کامل[Craniofacial fibrous dysplasia: a case report].
Fibrous dysplasia is classified among benign bone tumors. It is a bone development anomaly characterized by hamartoma proliferation of fibrous tissue within the medullary bone, with secondary bony metaplasia, producing immature, newly formed and weakly calcified bone, without maturation of the osteoblast. It can be monostotic or polyostotic. The craniofacial localization occurs in 10%-25% of ca...
متن کاملPolyostotic fibrous dysplasia; a case report.
Fibrous dysplasia is a condition leading to abnormal differentiation of osteoblasts which leads to replacement of normal bone with fibrous stroma [1-3]. It may involve single bone (monostotic) or multiple bones (polyostotic). It may affect any bone however; skull and ribs are the commonest [2,4-6]. It is usually asymptomatic and is an incidental finding. It may become symptomatic when complicat...
